He was born in 1949 in Leningrad. He studied at the St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University (LETI). His first publication was in Aurora magazine in 1973 and later they would be published in the press of Germany, the USA, Israel and Estonia. He won his first international prize in 1974, in Skoplje, Yugoslavia. In total he has 20 international awards (Italy, Yugoslavia, Turkey, Poland, etc.). He was awarded the national professional award "Golden Ostap" in 1992. From 1975 to 1985 he was secretary of the Leningrad Cartoonists' Club. He has published 5 books in “Samizdat” (1980-1985), “Bitte recht freundlich” (1987), “Eulenspiegel”, (1990), “Such matters” (1991), “Lyres of SPb, Nuance” (1996) and “Ford of SPb.” He has also held personal exhibitions: 1989 Gallery 10-10 Leningrad, 1990 Zurich and 1991 Schwyz (Switzerland). As part of the group of caricaturists he participated in two exhibitions «NJET PROBLEM!» in Munich (1995) and Berlin (1996). Many of his caricatures are found in private collections in Germany, Switzerland and the United States. He was a participant in the exhibition of the cartoon Confrontation at the State Russian Museum in 1996. Some years he worked as an artist at the carnivals of Nice, France. Furthermore, in 2005 he collaborated with the BBC film about V. Bogorade. The last 25 years, he has participated in international exhibitions, as a member of the jury. In the last four years he has organized four international exhibitions in St. Petersburg.
