Alberto Ruggieri was born in Rome. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. Since 1989 he has worked as an illustrator collaborating with numerous newspapers, magazines and advertising agencies in Italy and abroad. He has created book covers and illustrated children's books for several publishers, he also works as a coordinator of publishing projects and has collaborated with “Editori Riuniti” for the covers of several book series. For this same publishing house he was visual editor and coordinator of the children's book series “Matite italiane per Gianni Rodari”. Ruggieri has also been responsible for the illustrations and digital image processing of the weekly “Liberal” as well as the cover image of the magazine “Avvenimenti”. In the 90s he was the author of comic stories published monthly in the magazines “Frigidaire and Il Grifo”. He has exhibited his works in individual and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad. Since 2005 Ruggieri teaches illustration at the European Institute of Design (IED) in Rome and since 2014 he teaches in the graphic design department of the University of Fine Arts in Rome (RUFA).
