Vladimiras Beresniovas, also known by his stage name "Vlaber", was born on December 13, 1948 in the village of Boronky in Belarus. He currently lives and works in Kaunas, Lithuania. He graduated from the Kaunas College of Applied Arts with a degree in Artistic Design. He submitted some of his first drawings to a local newspaper and they were published immediately. Since 1971 he has exhibited his artistic and humorous works in Lithuania, Latvia, Russia, Greece, Poland, Yugoslavia, Germany, Italy, Brazil, Romania, Cuba, the United States, Australia, Canada, Turkey, Brazil and France. Vlaber has been active in the Lithuanian and global art communities for over 40 years. He has worked professionally in the areas of book lustration, poster design, caricatures and painting. In the last ten years, Vlaber illustrated more than 100 books and also published his own cartoon and humor books: "Vlaber Cartoons" (1998): "Geriau Ragas ant Kaktos" (2002); "Enlacesmoteka" (2008). In 2008 he was included in “Who's Who” in Lithuania. Caricatures of him frequently appear in the Lithuanian newspapers "Lietuvos Rytas" and "Kauno Diena". His artworks have been awarded in numerous international cartoon competitions. Some of his exhibitions are: “Cultural diversity: European wealth”, “Exhibition of eight European artists” Gabrovo, Bulgaria (2008); “Satyrykon” International Exhibition, Legnica, Poland (2008), “Nasreddin Hodja” International Cartoon Competition (2007), Istanbul, Turkey (2007), Piracicaba International Humor Exhibition, Brazil (2007). In 2008 a large exhibition of his artworks was organized in Vilnious to celebrate his 60th birthday. He is a member of the Lithuanian Association of Artists, the Lithuanian Union of Journalists and the Lithuanian National Association of Cartoonists "Humor Sapiens".
