Born on February 10, 1972, in Campinas, São Paulo, Brazil, Dalcio Machado, commonly known as Dalcio, is a distinguished cartoonist, caricaturist, and children's book illustrator. He embarked on his professional journey at the age of 13 and, by 17, was employed by the "Correio Popular" newspaper, where he received his first award. Throughout his career, Dalcio has garnered over 118 national and international awards, including accolades from the United Nations and multiple honors at the World Press Cartoon in Portugal. His work has been featured in prominent publications such as "Veja" magazine, where he contributed for 13 years, including creating cover illustrations. Additionally, Dalcio has authored children's books, including "Flubete" and "Não brinque com a comida!" published by Companhia das Letras.
