Mikola Vorontsov

Mikola Vorontsov was born on July 1, 1959 in Petropavlovsk, northern Kazakhstan region. From 1985 to 1991 he worked as an artist in the children's newspaper "Lenin Sparks", since 1991 he worked in the socio-political newspaper "Rush Hour" as a full-time cartoonist. He collaborated with the magazines "Crocodile", "Bus", "Komsomolskaya Pravda", "Balamut" and others. He is a member of the Union of Artists of Russia and participated in numerous exhibitions in the country and cartoons around the world. In addition to being the winner of the cartoon contest in Gabrovo, Bulgaria — 1986, Vilnius, Lithuania — 1987, Tallinn, Estonia — 1990, Ankara, Turkey — 1995, 1997, Olense, Belgium — 2000, Tehran, Iran — 2002, Tokyo , Japan — 1998. In 1996, the book "The Amazing Adventures of Baron Munchausen" took second place at the All-Russian competition "Book Art" in Moscow. In 1997, the book “Small But Proud Little Birds” awarded him the same first place. In 2003, Nikolay Vorontsov received the "Man of the Book" award for the series "Samson and Robert" from the publishing house "Azbooka". In 2009, "The Surprising Adventures of Baron Munchausen" was again awarded in the "Art of the Book" competition.
