Farhad is half Dutch and half Iranian and was born in 1957 in Tehran. He studied at the Tehran Academy of Fine Arts in 1979 and since 1977 he has been a cartoonist and illustrator. He emigrated to the Netherlands in 1986 and worked independently since 1988 with different Dutch publishers such as: “Rotterdams Dagblad”, “Algemeen Dagblad”, “Viceversa” and “Vrij Nederland”. He is a member of different artist associations, for example: Dutch “Pers & Prent” (Association of Dutch Publishing Artists), FECO (Federation of European Cartoonists) and AIDA (International Advocacy Association for Artists). In addition, he was an adviser to the Awards for Visual Artists of "The Prince Claus Foundation" of the Netherlands. Farhad also works for newspapers, magazines and websites in different countries such as “Nebelspalter” (Switzerland), “La Voce” (Italy), “Shargh” (Iran) “Seven magazine” (Iran) and “Don Quichotte” (Germany). .
