Helio Flores, better known as Helioflores (born October 8, 1938, in Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico), is a Mexican cartoonist. Biography: He studied architecture at the Universidad Veracruzana and at The School of Visual Arts in New York. After working as an architect for two years, he left the profession in 1959 to pursue cartooning. He was a founder and co-editor of the satirical magazine La Garrapata in the 1960s. He has contributed to numerous publications, including the newspapers Novedades , La Jornada , and El Universal , among many others. Part of his work is included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Caricature and Cartoon in Basel.
