Miguel Villalba Sánchez, known as “The Sad Boy,” is not only a clinical psychologist but also a comedian, illustrator, graphic designer, muralist and comic book author. He works with numerous local and international newspapers such as “Universal Post” (UK), “Il Tempo” (Italy), “El Triangle” (Spain) and several Catalan newspapers. He currently publishes on the websites “Tot Terragona”, “Noticies Tarragona” and in the magazine “El Comic”. In addition, he draws live cartoons for the program “Els Matins” on the Catalan channel TV3. “The Sad Boy” received numerous awards from organizations such as the Victor Mora Foundation, SOS Racism and the Barcelona Comic Strip Contest. In 2015 he received the UNESCO Prize for World Press Freedom and the Colombian Prize from the Cartagena Data Festival. In addition, he is an active member of the collectives “Yaka-Yaka” and “El web negre” and founded the collective “Deliropolis”, the NGO “Dibujantes sin Fronteras” and the annual event “Comic Week in Tarragona”.
