Como fantasía darwinesca Hugo Horita despliega una hermosa y singular fauna, plena de metáforas que develan nuevos significados... los escondidos, los que se asocian a nuestra memoria.
Habiendo disfrutado de su obra gráfica, casi toda digital, observamos que la materialidad de Galápagos confirma su estilo personal de representar mundos ajenos y propios. Es conmovedor. 
Hugo Horita es ilustrador, como lo demuestra su reconocida trayectoria, creador de una poética visual muy personal, su ingenio, sentido del humor y su amor por la síntesis nos abre las puertas a la comprensión de los textos más diversos. 
Roland Barthes decía que "el tacto es el más desmitificador de los sentidos, al contrario de la vista, que es el más mágico"... pero en esta ocasión podemos aunar los dos sentidos, para confirmar que la magia existe en el mundo de este artista, diseñador de animales fantásticos, ebanista que interviene en esta especie de metamorfosis de la pinotea. Observando a las bellas criaturas, adivinamos su goce por el trabajo manual, por la calidez de la madera y la voluntad ingobernable de las vetas, que juegan en las suaves superficies.  Galápagos, es un juego donde la materia y las formas se resignifican y se entrelazan armando un relato que va más allá de las palabras.

As a Darwinian fantasy Hugo Horita displays a beautiful and unique fauna, full of metaphors that reveal new meanings ... the hidden ones, those that are associated with our memory. Having enjoyed his graphic work, almost all digital, we observe that the materiality of Galapagos confirms his personal style of representing worlds of others and of his own. It is moving. 
Hugo Horita is an illustrator, as evidenced by his renowned career, creator of a very personal visual poetics, his wit, sense of humor and his love for synthesis opens the doors to the understanding of the most diverse texts. 
Roland Barthes said that "touch is the most demystifying of the senses, contrary to sight, which is the most magical" ... but this time we can combine the two senses, to confirm that magic exists in the world of this artist, designer of fantastic animals, cabinetmaker who intervenes in this kind of metamorphosis of the pinotea. Observing the beautiful creatures, we guess his enjoyment of manual work, the warmth of the wood and the ungovernable will of the grains, which play on the smooth surfaces. Galápagos is a game where matter and forms are re-signified and intertwined, putting together a story that goes beyond words.
