Pol Leurs

Pol Leurs, better known under his pseudonym Poleurs, was born on September 27, 1947 in Luxembourg City. He lives and works in Gonderange, Luxembourg. He worked as an engineer, but is now retired. Self-taught in art, he published regularly from 1975 to 1983 in the magazines “Revue”, “Forum” and “Ons Stad”. Since 1976 he has held solo exhibitions in Luxembourg and participated in numerous national and international group exhibitions. Since 1980, Pol Leurs has participated in international cartoon competitions and won his first prize, a special prize for a particularly outstanding performance, at “Cartoon 80” in Berlin. Meanwhile he won around 60 awards and mentions in national and international cartoon competitions. Furthermore, he was a jury member in several renowned international cartoon competitions. Pol Leurs published 4 albums of his own cartoons: "Cartoons 1, 2, 3, 4". His works are also presented on his own website www.poleurs.lu. As vice-president of the Luxembourg association CartoonArt.lu, he promotes cartoon art in Luxembourg together with other artists and friends of cartoon art. In Luxembourg, the Vanden International Caricature and Cartoon Show (Luxembourg) is organized periodically and Pol Leurs is the President of the jury of this international cartoon competition that is awarded 5 stars by the Federation of Cartoonists' Organizations (FECO). ).
