He was born in Costa Rica. He studied Cartoonist at the Official Professional Training Study Center of Spain in 1982. Later he studied Advertising Design at the University of Sciences and Arts of Costa Rica in 1999. He is a professor of Caricature at the “Universidad de Costa Rica”. Likewise, he is a television producer on Channel 13 of the Costa Rican government and the television program "El mundo de Arcadio", an educational program to teach painting and drawing. He edited 16 educational art, cartoon and caricature books and is a cartoonist for several newspapers and magazines around the world such as “La Prensa”-Panama; “Courrier international” – France, “Al Día” - Costa Rica and “Cagle cartoons Inc.” - USA). He won the "Doctor Honoris Causa", José Luis Cuevas Museum, Mexico City, 2018. He was nominated for the "Plumes libres" award, Paris, France, 2019.
