Urmas Nemvalts was born on August 4, 1968 in Estonia. He currently lives and works in Tallinn, Estonia. He has been a student, an apprentice, a glider pilot, a soldier, a locksmith, a welder, a security guard, and a builder. He first learned to hold a pencil in his fist when he was about two years old and has continued to do so ever since. The first caricature of him appeared in 1986 in the Tartu Edasi newspaper "Onward", after which he began to consider himself a cartoonist. Since 1994 he works as a caricaturist for the newspaper “Postimees”, where he draws a caricature daily. In 1998, he added to his portfolio the "Un-Bearable" comic strip, "Murakarud" in Estonian. Beyond the newspaper, he has illustrated several books, some of them children's books that he personally authored. He has also designed commercials and written some sketches for television shows. His drawings have been published in more than 20 countries. Urmas Nemvalts presented his artwork in various solo exhibitions in Estonia and Finland. He participated in both national and international cartoon competitions and has received numerous prestigious awards.
