Marie Plotena She is a painter, draftsman and illustrator. She finished her studies at the Brno School of Arts and Crafts and at the Faculty of Education at Masaryk University. She is a member of the Q Association, the Czech Union of caricatures, the Brno Biennale Association, the Union of Visual Artists, and the Federation of European caricatures. Caricatures of her were published in numerous magazines both in the Czech Republic and abroad. Marie Plotena's caricatures are characterized by a linear drawing of simple lines, without shadows, with which she achieves a clear and orderly expression. They are created using the author's unique technique, which consists in grinding the paper with a sharp point: the result is a structure that looks like a bas-relief. The artistic lyrical mood of her works is similar to that of the drawings, although her composition is more complicated. Marie Plotena associates in a singular synthesis the simplicity of expression with the abundance of ideas, complemented since 1990 with non-traditional ones.
