Abdul Rahim Yassir was born in 1951 in the city of Qadisiyah, Iraq. He is widely considered one of the best political caricaturists currently working in Iraq, and responds to the absurdity of his circumstances with wry and poignant humor. His style is clever in the way he suggests innocence, knowledge in the directness of him. Despite the accessibility of Yassir's style, the work is as politically charged and socially critical as so-called "high art."
