Tjeerd Royaards

Tjeerd Royaards is a Dutch editorial cartoonist living in Amsterdam. He has worked as a caricaturist for more than ten years, since he obtained a master's degree in Political Science at the University of Amsterdam. His work has appeared in the Dutch newspapers “NRC Next” and “The Volkskrant”, the German newspaper “Handelsblatt”, the French weekly “Courrier International” and online in the “Washington Post” and “The Guardian”. In 2010, Tjeerd received a Mention of Excellence at the United Nations Political Caricature Award and, in 2014, he won second prize at Press Cartoon Europe. He is also editor-in-chief of Cartoon Movement and a member of the advisory board of Cartoonists Rights Network International.
