Mojmir Mihatov was born in Zadar, Croatia, in 1952. He graduated from the Zadar Pedagogical Academy of Fine Arts. He initially began his career as a designer, as well as an animator, scriptwriter and director at the Zadar Puppet Theater. In 1978 he made the animated film "Reklamomanija", he also created the scenery and puppets for more than 60 plays. As a member of the “Croatian Cartoonists Society” he twice received Oskarika's recognition as the most successful author at international cartoon festivals. Caricatures of him are published in various newspapers and magazines in Croatia and abroad such as “Slobodna Dalmacija”, “Vjesnik”, “Zadarski list” and “Narodni list”. He won prizes for puppets and scenography in national and international competitions. He won the first prize for him as a cartoonist in 1976, later he received numerous prizes for cartoonists from his country or abroad. For example, in 2017 he received the grand prize at the 37th “Nasreddin Hodja” International Cartoon Contest in Turkey.
