Minas Gerais is home to the largest open-air museum in Latin America

The Inhotim Institute, located in Brumadinho (MG), is an unmissable destination for art and nature lovers. Combining art galleries, themed gardens and permanent and traveling exhibitions, Inhotim stands out as one of the largest open-air museums in the world and the largest in Latin America.

Founded by Minas Gerais businessman Bernardo de Mello Paz, the project began to take shape in 1980 and was officially inaugurated in 2006. The institute is a private, non-profit entity, located in an area of ​​140 hectares, where visitors can explore both the wealth contemporary art and the diversity of the flora of the Atlantic Forest and the Cerrado.

Inhotim's collection is impressive, with around 1,862 works by more than 280 artists from 43 countries. The pieces are scattered outdoors and in closed galleries, perfectly integrating into a Botanical Garden that houses more than 4,300 rare botanical species from all continents. This national treasure is an invitation to a unique sensorial and intellectual experience.
