Five of the Best Latin American Photographers

Five of the Best Latin American Photographers

This time I took on the task of seeing, of searching, of knowing, of updating the view; in this case with photographers from this side. Latin Americans.
Miguel Calderón

Mexico City, 1971

One of the most recognized Mexican artists abroad, who is today an important representative of contemporary art. His philosophy is to never do the same thing or operate under the same rules of art, for him the changes he goes through between painting, photography, video and installation are natural and go hand in hand with the messages he tries to express.

Nicola Costantino

Argentina, 1964

With sculptural techniques that conceptually influenced his work, Nicola gives human and animal bodies great prominence in his work. 2006 marked his entry into the world of photography, where he has experimented with a series that refers to important works in the history of photography and art.

Daniel Marenco
Brazil, 1980

You can tell that his themes are strong, and they are, but I believe that Marenco, like any good photographer, is capable of capturing that emotion, translating it into an image and making the viewer feel shocked.
They are everyday themes in most societies in Latin America. They are real photos.

Alejandro Severo

Brazil, 1978

His work in photojournalism is a clear example of his interest in reporting on social causes, and the quality of his images is extraordinary.

Gustavo Bettini

Brazil, 1980

Trained in Tourism and Hospitality, Bettini began his photography career in 2000, working on projects such as Inframargem: To the infrared margins of the world, in 2008. A test carried out with the extinct infrared film where Bettini saw a new panorama to ally with photosensitive mechanisms.
The landscapes in the Inframargem essay reveal the technical possibilities to promote extensive research in the field of photography creation.
