Visual arts and technology

The visual artist uses various materials to build his art object, including: canvas, paints, sheets of paper and pencils. However, technological development in recent years has boosted the creation of visual arts through technological tools.

The use of graphic creation computer programs (software), such as Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign, has allowed the creation of visual arts that are called web art. This is a category of artistic works from the digital universe developed on computer networks. The main characteristic used in this technological type of art is interactivity, which provides Internet users with different experiences, such as comic and aesthetic.

Web art does not have a defined concept. However, it is an electronic language that draws on existing concepts of visual arts, such as painting and drawing, designed to operate on the internet.
