Various techniques are used by street artists, although the “graffiti” intervention is the one most associated with the theme of street art.
Below are some examples of art that can be found throughout the cities:
Graffiti: stylized drawings generally made with spray paint on the walls of buildings, tunnels, streets. There are many graffiti techniques and currently 3D works attract the attention of critics.
Stencil: similar to graffiti, this type of technique uses cut paper as a template and spray to fix illustrations and drawings on streets, posts and walls.
Poems: any type of literary manifestation that appears in the urban environment, whether on benches, walls, posts.
Stickers and Collage: called “sticker art”, this type of art uses the application of stickers throughout the city.
Posters: This type of urban intervention, also called “lambe-lambe posters”, is very common, where posters (paper and glue) are fixed around the city, whether on poles, squares, buildings, made manually or printed.
Living Statues: widely found in large cities as a form of tourist entertainment, living statues perform important work with the body, which remains static for a long time, performing small movements. They are usually painted and characterized.
Performances: these street performances can be theatrical, musical, circus (jugglers, clowns, etc.), being solo or group work.
Installations: there are countless types of artistic installations as examples of street art, whether objects or different materials, with the aim of bringing about a change in the existing scenario.
