As we already know, the ceramic manufacturing process uses clay, obtained from sifted clay to which water is added. To obtain the best result, it is necessary to leave the mixture to rest until the water has evaporated or has been evacuated. The resulting paste is then molded. From there, clay cylinders are extracted, from which the potter can start working.
There are different methods to make pottery, depending on the use that will be given later. Even so, let us now learn about the most notable process in this field: the use of the potter's wheel. These are the steps:
The potter's wheel tool has been used for many years to shape clay in this process. To do this, the potter places the ball of clay in the center of the potter's wheel. This machine starts to rotate, guiding the clay to the outside. The hands are placed in the clay and begin to slowly mold it into the desired shape.
When the desired shape has been achieved, this technique requires the part to dry. The object then undergoes the firing process until it acquires its ceramic consistency.
When the piece is taken out of the kiln, the pottery is covered with ceramic glaze, which gives it a brilliant shine. At this stage, there are a wide variety of nail polishes that can be used, so that the creative process can begin.
At the end of the decoration, the piece is put back in the oven. For this step, care must be taken as the paint can easily come off.
